You Can Access Dozens of Scholarships Using the Common Application Form
The Community Foundation of Greater Rochester believes that YOU are our future. In 2006, several local organizations including the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester, the Rochester Community Schools Foundation, Rochester Rotary Club and the Rochester Kiwanis Club partnered to create the Community Scholarship Program for local graduating high school seniors. Our goal was simple – to make more scholarships available and make applying easy. We succeeded!
Scholarship selection is based on criteria developed by the donors, including academic promise, extracurricular activities, community service, musical, artistic and dramatic talent, tenacity, work ethic, and leadership. Some awards may also consider financial need. Scholarships are awarded based on funds available and all scholarships may not be awarded every year.
To be considered, you must submit:
- Scholarship Application Form
(Including general information and an essay question)
- Scholarship Appraisal Form
- High school transcript, including ACT/SAT scores
Applications are also available at high school counseling offices, at the Community Foundation Office, Rochester Community Schools Foundation, and online at the Rochester Rotary Club. These files should be printed and submitted to the Rochester Community Schools Foundation Office on or before the stated deadline.
Applications will be reviewed and recipients selected based on criteria set when the scholarship was established. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. The Scholarship Review Committee reserves the right to consider an application for any or all scholarships available. You can assist by indicating your specific qualifications on the application form. Students selected to receive scholarships will be notified by mail and honored at the annual “Celebrating Youth Reception” event in May of that year.
